Low blood pressure sucks

Baby BlogUgh. This morning, for the second time, I tried to go get some early morning groceries with Moira and ended up feeling very unwell.
.

Having low blood pressure, sometimes I get dizzy or faint if I get too warm or push myself too much physically. It usually means that I have to sit down and rest for a bit. I don't feel the wooziness so much when I'm sitting as I do if standing.

Today I was very dizzy and could feel the faintness coming on just after beginning our grocery shop. I had to stop and sit or squat several times during what was supposed to be a short shop. Luckily Moira was doing well in the cart and didn't seem to mind too much. She had been promised a viewing of Monster Hits! (a Sesame Street DVD) when we got home.

After managing to get the few needed items, pausing once to get Moira into the bathroom and use it myself, I ended up needing to sit down in a chair at the check out. Thankfully, it wasn't very busy, being so early on a weekday, and the staff were very helpful. I felt much better after about 10 minutes and drove home with no difficulties.

Now I have a huge list of things to do that I really don't feel up for - Moira and I also appear to have mild colds with runny noses (I'm more run down by that than her of course). I'm going to try and stick to minimal activity things for a bit and see how I feel. Low blood pressure isn't really a threatening thing, so says my midwife and many pregnancy books, just inconvenient and a contributing factors to falls if one isn't careful.

Sigh - maybe it's a nesting thing, but I feel like my to do list is never ending. Oh well. Guess I should be putting Darcy to work :)
