31w4d - my last midwife appt
.
The restrictions on friends and family have been relaxed, so Moira and Darcy got to come in with me this time. Moira was pleased to get to hear the "woosh woosh" of the doppler when it picked up the baby's heartbeat. She also got to play with a little model womb and removable fetus.
The only notable thing I recall is some discussion about my low blood pressure. This happened with Moira too. Generally, in pregnancy, my blood pressure seems to lean to the lower side. There were a few little dizzy spells with Moira, however, it seems more pronounced with this pregnancy. If I get too warm or overexert myself I get dizzy or light headed. Once or twice I've come close to fainting. Usually, I feel it coming on and can rest before it gets too bad. The solution seems to be to take it easy, drink lots, maybe consume a little more salt and so on.
Otherwise, the baby still seems to be in a transverse (sideways) position. We've still a few weeks to go until it might be a problem. I'm crossing my fingers that he or she will settled head down soon.
We're not taking any additional labour classes this time. We took them before and don't really have the time to spare now. Mostly I'm reading up and refreshing my memory on what we learned before, in the hopes that I'll actually get it use it this time. I'd really like to avoid another c-section, but we'll do whatever we need to.
Wish me luck!
