Off we go to Grandma's House...

We headed to Grandma's house on Boxing Day to see my side of the family.

Boxing Day morning we got a late start as Moira allowed up to sleep in. We had expected her to wake us at the usual 7am time. Instead, Moira slept in until just after 8am. We pulled ourselves together pretty quickly though and got on the road. Mostly bare and wet, the drive wasn't too bad.

Unfortunately, leaving later than planned, Moira ended up falling asleep and taking her nap too early. This would lead to some crankiness later in the day. The drive itself was decent, with only a few slow downs and some rain. We made one quick stop to grab a drink and snack.

We arrived just after lunchtime to meet my mom and stepdad, along with my visiting grandma and uncle. Presents were distributed, with Moira happy to help in their delivery, and lots of wrapping paper was devastated.

Loot included of a toy piano, which matched her guitar from Santa, a neat rocking horse, Sesame Street DVDs (which *had* to be played) and more.

Later on, Moira was falling asleep at the dinner table due to her early nap. We laid her down on the living room floor in the dark for a short sleep - reviving her later with chocolate pudding. That night, she slept pretty well on the floor of the spare room we were in. We created a little nook for her with a foam mattress and lots of pillows.

I didn't fare as well, unfortunately. Nausea dogged me for most of the visit and interefered with my sleep. I'm not exactly sure why, though I wonder if the shift in eating habits and consumption of some peanuts might have contributed...

My nephew's gifts from us included WoW playing time which Darcy assisted him with for a while. I have to admit, the game still calls at times. It's not quite worth the effort though. We haven't deleted our accounts yet, but we're likely to soon.

In any case, we did a little shopping when we returned some clothes that were a bit tight on Moira, met up with an old friend for a chat and generally relaxed. It was a nice visit.
